Aeon Mining with c5.18xlarge AWS EC2 Instance – 6,573.9 h/s

I was bored today and decided to try out the Compute Optimized c5.18xlarge EC2 Instance. Its not cheap, coming in at around $36 a day or so to run it. It is a monster though, with 72 cores total. Total hashrate over 15 minutes was 6,573.9 h/s.

After playing around the above has given me the best results out of everything I have tried. Total hashrate over 15 minutes of 6,573.9 h/s.

Not profitable at all but still pretty cool to see.

Ahhhh, thanks for scratching that itch I had about what a CPU server could do. Just based off my kill-a-watt testing with my laptop I didn’t imagine this approach would be profitable.

I got excited for about 3 minutes while I checked the spot pricing and saw that it is about 30% of the on demand price so you can run this for about $24/day or less if you are ok with more downtime if your outbid. Sadly even at that hashrate its about $17/day so still not going to be close!

Where did you get the $36/day from? Its much more on demand, i think over $3/hour in most regions

Nice to read though, i keep thinking about testing the instance types – too busy to have 20 minutes of playtime sadly!

I tried this with monero7 and can only get about 1.2kh/s is that normal ? is aeon mining faster ?

How can I achieve 6,700 h/s like that? I launch the c5.18xlarge instance like that but it only reaches 13,00 h/s. Did you compile it with OpenCL or CUDA support?
